The main entrance on the Keileweg

New build Stedin Academy Rotterdam
Stedin has a monumental mission: to ensure the Netherlands has access to sufficient energy. To achieve this, a large number of new colleagues are required. As the traditional education system struggles to meet this demand, Stedin established its own Academy to train future professionals.
As the Academy continues to grow, it required a new learning environment. We designed a robust, purpose-built structure that fits seamlessly into the industrial character of Rotterdam’s Keileweg. The building and its surrounding site will support a wide variety of practical training activities. Students will be able to explore crawl spaces, dig trenches, work with medium-voltage systems, and much more.
Together with Stedin, we pushed the boundaries of sustainability as far as possible. The result will be a Paris Proof building, integrated solar panels in the façade, rooftop gardens, and extensive solar coverage on the roof.
Beyond sustainability, the Academy is designed to be a place where people genuinely enjoy learning. Our interior design maximizes natural light, fosters a strong sense of safety, provides plenty of space for relaxation, and uses materials that positively stimulate the senses.
