Coare is looking for a talented Junior Architect a strong sense of design, graphics, aesthetics and proportion. Are you bursting with ideas, enjoy working in a team but also capable of diving deep independently? Then we’re looking for you!

In this role, you’ll be involved in various project phases, with a clear focus on early-stage design. You will develop creative concepts, assess their feasibility, and ensure technical clarity. You will also be involved in project coordination, both internally and with external stakeholders, always maintaining the design intent.

Location: Utrecht/Amsterdam (Coare office)

What do you bring?

• A strong sense proportions, content aware,
• A master’s degree or equivalent
• 2–5 years of experience with proven design skills
• Passion for both architecture (exterior and interior) and graphic design/aesthetics
• Excellent 2D and 3D drawing skills
• Love for making physical or digital models
• A hands-on mentality – you take initiative, contribute ideas, and get things done
• Experience with Rhinoceros (preferably also Grasshopper)
• Familiarity with Revit & BIM is a plus
• Fluent in Dutch or willing to learn Dutch is a plus
• You’re eager to learn, self-directed, and enjoy contributing to a collective knowledge culture

In your role as a senior, you will work on various project phases, with a clear focus on design quality and translating/directing the team. You develop creative concepts, investigate their feasibility, and ensure technical clarity (enjoying detailing is a must). In addition, you lead design teams, ensuring the right designers are in the right place within the team. You coordinate and supervise complex projects, both internally and with external stakeholders, with maintaining the design intent as a central focus.

As a Senior Architect, you are responsible for the architectural and technical quality of our projects. You lead complex design processes, manage (junior and medior) team members, and monitor planning, budget, and the integrity of the design. You feel at home in all aspects of the profession: from conceptual thinking to technical development and execution. You get energy from translating ideas into feasible, high-quality architecture.
