NS Roosendaal, home station

At the Roosendaal base, colleagues from NS Netherlands and Belgian train staff meet each other during their breaks. The ambition was to transform this functional space into a pleasant and safe environment where everyone feels at ease.

We redesigned the space with a variety of seating options, some partially separated to provide more peace and comfort. A wall-sized nature image from the local region was added to foster recognition and a sense of pride. The design is inviting, warm, and contributes to a relaxed atmosphere.

By using semi-transparent partitions, natural materials, and a calm color palette, we created an environment that supports well-being and connection. The nature image provides a sense of familiarity and local identity, without overstimulating the space.
