Today we celebrate the start of the construction of the Stedin Academy. Stedin has an enormous mission: to provide the Netherlands with sufficient energy. This requires many extra colleagues. These are difficult to enter from regular education, so Stedin has its own Academy where they can train people.
This Academy is growing and needs a new learning environment. Coare Architectuur designed a sturdy building, fitting the Keileweg in Rotterdam. The building and its grounds will house many different forms of (practical) education. Students can crawl into crawl spaces, dig trenches, learn to work with medium voltage and much more.
Together with Stedin, we have stretched the sustainability ambition to the maximum. This will result in a building that will be built Paris Proof with integrated solar panels in the facade, roof gardens and many solar panels on the roof. In addition to a sustainable building, the Academy will also be a place where you like to learn. Our interior design provides plenty of light, a sense of safety in the building, sufficient places to relax and a materialization that positively stimulates the senses.
Coare Realisatie won the tender and can now build the Academy. We are celebrating this together with the client today.
